The Destination
Set on 140 hectares of tranquil forest on the outskirts of Shanghai, Amanyangyun is a sanctuary of nature, heritage, and contemporary design. In a remarkable act of conservation, ancient camphor trees and historic stone villas were relocated from Fuzhou and lovingly restored, creating a destination that embodies rebirth and cultural preservation.
The Experience
Designed by Kerry Hill Architects, Amanyangyun features 11 Antique Villas and 24 contemporary Ming Courtyard Suites, each blending traditional architecture with modern serenity. Antique Villas include up to five bedrooms, private gardens, and swimming pools, while the suites open onto serene courtyards.
At the heart of the resort lies Nan Shufang Cultural Centre, dedicated to preserving traditional Chinese arts through tea and incense ceremonies, calligraphy, and Kunqu Opera performances. The 2,840-square-metre Aman Spa offers comprehensive wellness facilities including hydrotherapy pools, yoga and Pilates studios, and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools embraced by forest views.
